Oct 12: Windy Cape Town

Everyone has to start at Table Mountain, but it's not always available because of the susceptibility to high winds and clouds.  We struck lucky.  Our brilliant hotel manager told us to go first thing in the morning on our first day, which we did, and within a couple of hours after our descent high winds and dense cloud closed the cable car down.

Most of the afternoon was spent at the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens which grows only South African Indigenous plants against a backdrop of scenic views of Cape Town.  Could spend days there!
